Citizens
What does a citizen do?

As a citizen of Chernarus, there are many things for you to do. Since our server isn't like any others, you need to earn money to buy supplies to survive.  As we are a roleplay community, the central part of being a citizen is to roleplay by either interacting with others whilst going about your business, making money or simply exploring and getting up to things or by creating well-thought-out scenes with others to engage the community. Every interaction is a scene. As a citizen, you will develop your character through interacting with other players and making yourself known. It's your choice as to what you want to do with that character and the path that they will take in society.

Character Creation

When you create a character, you choose the storyline for your character and the path that they take to develop your character in society. All characters must be realistic for your character ped and have a realistic, suitable name. When you create your character, you ultimately have the choice of making them legal citizens or illegal. What this means is that if your character is a legal citizen, they will typically follow the law and work within it, ensuring they don't have a criminal record and work to earn a living. They are friendly to others and generally happy to help and interact. Illegal immigrants are criminals; they go about their day looking for opportunities to make money, typically gathering drugs to sell or even trading arms. These types of people are opportunists and don't fear the law. They are typically career criminals with lengthy arrest records.

Everyone can develop multiple characters; however, they must be kept separate from the other characters that you have, meaning that they wouldn't hold the same information as your other characters. This means you can have both an illegal character and a legal one at the same time, but they are two different people. It's recommended, though, that you develop only one character at one time.

How to make money?

To make money, there are multiple jobs scattered across the map that anyone can do to earn their pay. The way the jobs work, you have to travel to the gathering location to gather supplies for your job. Then you will need to travel to the processing location to process the gathered items into sellable goods for the various stores around the map. All locations can be found in-game by pressing Ctrl + 1 to open the jobs. Each job will have a list of required tools, and the player must have at least one of them to start gathering supplies. When you are ready to start processing your supplies, you will need to press Ctrl + 1 again and go to the licensing tab to find the location of the processing plant for your job. Depending on the job that you want to do, you will have to obtain a licence to do so.

We also have government-created and funded jobs, such as being a police officer, paramedic or transport worker. These applications can be found on our Discord, but spaces are limited.

Licenses

Some jobs located across the map require specific licences to complete. Licenses can be purchased at license offices located across the map. The following locations are where licensing offices can be found:

  • Chernogorsk

  • Elektrozavodsk

  • Berezino

  • Novodmitrovsk

  • Severograd

  • Novaya Petrovka

These locations are also marked on the map when you press M.

The price per licence varies and can only be found in-game. The licenses are the following:

  • Copper License

  • Iron License

  • Gold License

  • Diamond License

  • Oil License

Some licenses also require you to hold other licenses to purchase them. This is only set up for mineral mining.

Purchasing a property

Our community differs from others in how we handle basebuilding; we don't allow building your own base around the map. Instead, we have the ability for anyone to purchase a variety of properties around the map for set prices. Prices can only be found by visiting the property you are looking to purchase and viewing its purchase price. There are currently 73 different types of properties that you can buy across the map, with availability being limited for some property types.

Each property will have purchasable extensions, including a storage extension that gives you a virtual inventory to store your items. Depending on the size and type of the property, storage slots vary. All property doors can be locked so that players cannot enter if they don't have permission to. The property owner can grant permissions to other people, including the transfer of ownership.
